Marinara and Elbow Noodles
Description
Simple, one pot, quick marinara with elbow noods for one.
Ingredients
- 3/4 C Elbow Noodles (macaroni, or similar sized noode)
- 1 1/3 C Water (don’t use tab if it tastes like clorine)
- 2 Tablespoons Tomato Paste (I like Cento Organic or Trader Joe’s, the kind in tubes)
- 2 tsp dried minced onion
- 1 Tablespoon butter
- 1/4 teaspoon salt or to taste (you need some, don’t forget it or this will be bland as fuck)
Instructions
- Add water, tomato paste, minced onion and butter to a small sauce pan over high heat.
- Once the mix is boiling and the butter is melted, taste it. Add salt, and taste again. Don’t add a lot of salt, just get the flavors popping but hold back a little if you want to add some parmesan to top it off at the end)
- Add the pasta, and stir frequently until the pasta is done (however long it takes on the package). For me this is generally about 6-7 minutes. You’ll need to stir frequently because the sauce is going to reduce right in the pad and make a starchy red sauce that will stick to the noodles.
- Once the sauce is as thick as you like it and the pasta is done, throw it in a bowl, optionally top it with parmesan (my favorite) and eat up.
